Monday 20th

Great start to the day....went upstairs to put ironing away, came down to find 8 of my 12 eggs smashed all over the back room floor.  Moral?  Don't leave Demon alone downstairs and believe that just cos she answers when she's called, she is not up to no good!  Had one of Smash's mates and mate's mum round for tea so bedlum as always!  Boy cried at kickboxing!  Nothing new there!  Here's the dilemma....Boy cries about going to school but I still make him go..should the same apply to kickboxing?  If I let him give up (after 3 months!) then it isn't gonna help him with the whole school saga either.  Of course, the fact I've just shelled out £60 on his kickboxing suit is not in any way gonna sway my decision!  Oh, almost forgot...went upstairs to sort something out this afternoon....Demon killed the 4 remaining eggs.  Happy days!

Tuesday 21st

# Oh what a night...#  Demon awoke full of life at 12 and then proceeded to wake up Smash so the three of us were sat at 12:15am watching Shrek 2!  (I'm well aware that Shrek hasn't been released yet so no doubt you're wondering how this was possible...all I am willing to say is, its not my DVD!)  2am I decided that pulling Demon off the windowsill and trying to stop her switching the PC on and off again for the 100th time was more than enough for that hour of the day.  I arose at 6:30am feeling like I had aged a year for every minute I slept!  6:30's early I know but getting 4 kids up and out to a bus stop by 8:20am is no easy task!  If you're thinking I'm this wonderful mother who gets up and bakes bread before the kids awake...you're wrong!

I also never hear the alarm so I actually rely on a scheduled 6:30 phone call from a mate! (Thanks matey!)...the deal is, I get the call at 6:30 (and its never late either which I find very impressive) and the phone rings 4 times.  If I don't respond within the next 5 minutes signalling my arousal then the phone will ring again.  Kewl huh?  Everyone should get one of those mates!  I think the record so far is 9 calls before I fully awoke!

Boy went off to school crying once again.  Is this normal?  I have a son who cries more than my three daughters put together.  Again I say, is this normal?

I discovered a depressing and frightening fact this morning which is why I am writing the diary section at 8:56am!  I was so full of indignation and shock at this that I felt compelled to write it down straight away.  Demon isn't in school yet so while Im getting the morning jobs outa the way, she watches Barla (Barney) or Cbeebies....anyway, switched on CBBC and there was Postman Pat.  Oh the nostalgia.  I called her in and excitedly pointed at Pat explaining "Mummy used to watch this"...not that she cared.  (She's currently sprawled all over the floor with a bokky!).  I carried on tidying up in the room and soon Pat finished.  THEY'VE CHANGED THE POSTMAN PAT MUSIC.  How could this happen?  Pat was a cornerstone of my generation's childhood.  Everyone knew the words, everyone sang along, everyone did the doorbell and knocking noises at the right time, everyone changed the words around so # Postman Pat ran over his cat..#  What is the world coming to?  Now you'll understand why I had to write it down straight away.  That's one of the problems with the world today, no one is satisfied with anything the way it is.  The way people at the top think nowadays is..." Change is better"...but thats not always the case.  Eastenders was NEVER the same with that Jazzy theme tune, Bruce just didn't have that same live magic without the E Street Band, a Marathon never tasted the same as a Snickers, chips tasted better in newspaper, 'Casualty' was never the same without Jimmy....sigh, all these things!

Erm, an advert for Pat just came on using the original music!  Okay, maybe they've jusr changed the credits music...still doesn't make sense though.  I'll have to watch out for the repeat this afternoon and report back!

Wednesday 22nd

Demon can now open milk by herself.  She has also learnt how to tip a full 2 pinter of milk onto the floor.  There must be something about first thing in the morning and Demons!  They make all dangerous things child proof so why not just anything?  She also opened a jar of jam this morning and put that in the pool of milk.  Some people may think she is being abnormally creative for a 16 month old but I don't...I think she knows full well what she's doing.  Putting the jam outside of the spilt milk (which Im not crying over btw) would have meant I had simply to lift it, replace the lid and put it back into the fridge.  Placing the jar into the milk meant having to wipe the jar etc before I could start tidying.  Anyone pondering her nickname being Demon should be slowly realising why she inherited the title! (after just 3 entries of the diary!)

Watched 'The Sopranos' last night....(# woke up this morning..#) any of you who don't watch it really need to re-evaluate your Tuesday nights!  Stopping typing now to investigate major ripping sound coming from playroom...yep, Demon's in there.

(Cheesy organ music plays to fill in the silence while Im gone)

Its okay, panic over...the kids didn't really read that book anyway!
